Care Guide & Plant Identifier Privacy Policy

Scope
This policy explains how Care Guide & Plant Identifier for iOS handles information when you use plant identification, diagnosis, care planning, AI assistance, weather, reminders, subscriptions, and related features. Care Guide & Plant Identifier does not require an account and does not operate its own server or user database.
Information We Process
Depending on the features you use, the app may process:
- Plant photos taken with the camera or selected from your photo library.
- Plant names, identification candidates, diagnoses, symptoms, care schedules, recovery plans, and garden records.
- Text and images included in AI Assistant conversations.
- Approximate device location used to request local weather.
- Subscription, purchase, entitlement, and credit-balance information.
- App analytics events, diagnostic information, and crash information made available through Apple or configured analytics services.
The app does not include advertising.
Local Storage
Plant photos, garden records, care records, and AI conversations are primarily stored on your device. The app does not require an account. Deleting local data through the app removes the corresponding local records from the device.
Third-Party Services
To provide its features, the app may send limited information to the following providers:
- Kindwise / Plant.id: plant identification and health diagnosis. Photos and request data may be retained in the provider's request records under its policies. Privacy policy: https://www.kindwise.com/privacy-policy
- BytePlus: AI-generated plant information, care schedules, recovery plans, weather tips, and assistant responses. The app does not request use of your content for model training. - Adapty: subscription product information, purchase processing, restoration, and entitlement verification. Privacy policy: https://adapty.io/privacy-policy/
- Singular: attribution and product analytics events when the SDK is configured and active. Privacy policy: https://www.singular.net/privacy-policy/
- Apple WeatherKit: current weather based on approximate location. Apple privacy information: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Apple App Store: payment processing and subscription management under Apple's terms and privacy policies.
We do not sell your personal information and do not use your content for advertising personalization.
Location
When you grant location permission, Care Guide & Plant Identifier uses approximate device location to retrieve local weather from WeatherKit. The implementation requests low accuracy, approximately kilometer-level location, rather than precise GPS positioning. Location is not used to create an account or a long-term user profile. You can deny or later revoke permission in iOS Settings; other app features remain available, although local weather may not be available.
Tracking and ATT
The app may request App Tracking Transparency permission. This permission is used only for advertising-effect analysis and attribution quality. Care Guide & Plant Identifier does not display ads or use tracking permission to personalize advertising. You can change this choice in iOS Settings.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app schedules local reminders for care tasks. Notification scheduling and delivery are handled by iOS. The app does not use notifications to send advertising.
Data Retention
Local data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app. Third-party providers may retain request data, images, logs, or transaction information according to their own policies and retention practices. Because Care Guide & Plant Identifier has no user account or server database, we cannot directly identify or delete a provider's copy on your behalf; you may contact the relevant provider where applicable.
Children's Privacy
Care Guide & Plant Identifier is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at the email above.
Security
We use reasonable measures available in the app and its platform to protect local data and limit the information sent to service providers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Your Choices and Requests
You may control camera, photo-library, location, notification, and tracking permissions through iOS. You may delete local app data using the app's local-data deletion function or by removing the app. For privacy questions or requests concerning information we control, contact hxhxinghua@icloud.com. Provider-specific requests may need to be directed to the relevant provider.
International Processing
Third-party providers may process information in countries outside your country of residence. Their processing is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app or its services change. The updated version will show a new “Last updated” date.
